Cost and Insurance
How much it will cost to treat your condition is highly dependent on what that condition is. Some patients are fine after just one or two treatments and others are going to need extended care. Generally, the longer a condition has existed, the longer it will take to treat it.
Insurance: Many health insurance plans cover acupuncture treatments and, generally, you will not need a referral from your primary care physician. However, it's best to verify this up front in order to avoid any surprises later.
I am on most insurance provider lists and will collect your co-payment at the time of service. I will have your insurance company billed directly.
State Industrial insurance and Medicare do not cover acupuncture. All motor vehicle liability (also known as PIP) policies cover acupuncture and do not require a referral. (If you have been injured in an auto accident I strongly recommend acupuncture, either with me or someone else. It can make an amazing difference in your recovery.)
No Insurance: My personal belief is that everyone deserves good health care. Of course this is a business; however, I generally try not to turn people away who want my help but cannot afford my regular fees. I am particularly aware that many people live on a fixed income, and I act accordingly. For self-paying clients, I may discount billed charges for payment at time of service on a case-by-case basis. My regular published “cash” rates are quite reasonable, but keep in mind that most conditions will require a course of treatments. If you wish, please discuss sliding scale fees directly with me.
